Keep Bugs Away

Everyone dreads that time of the year when insects start bugging us again.  I'm sure you are like many people that don't like bugs in your home or on your family.  There are many different, chemically enhanced bug repellants on the market.  Many of them have chemicals in them that should not be put on adults let alone children.

I very much dislike bugs, especially spiders.  I don't like them outside but I really don't want them inside.  DoTerra has several oils that deter spiders.  Purify can be diluted and sprayed where spiders can come in.  It also smells wonderful!  The same holds true for TerraShield.  Both of these oils are blends made by DoTerra.  Single olds can be used also.  Spiders do not like Peppermint oil.

I don't like to use chemical flea repellant on my pets if I find something natural that works just as good.  Last year, for the first time, I rubbed TerraShield on both my cats and dogs (I also used it on myself and my family).  I didn't find a single flea or tick on any one of them.  TerraShield works great to keep mosquitos away also.

Bites either hurt, itch or both.  Many essential oils can keep the insects away and/or relieve the discomfort.  A little 4 year boy, I was caring for, got stung by a wasp.  He was crying and in a lot of pain. Right away I grabbed the Lavender essential oil, checked to see if the stinger was out and put one drop on the sting.  Within a minutes he stopped crying and was ready to play again.  Lavender can also take the itch away from a bite. There are also many other oils that can relieve the sting or itch from a bug bite/sting.
It's best to just keep bugs away but sometimes one sneaks in and bites or stings.  You can either use a single oil or blend of two or more together to get the result you want.  None of these repellants are any unnatural chemicals added to them.  In fact, all the oils mentioned can be used on children without any harmful side effects.  Most oils should be diluted before applying to children.  Some oils can be used on infants with a few exceptions.
If you would like further information on the mentioned oils or any other oils, please contact me and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
